10 Ways to Burn Extra Calories Without Even Breaking a Sweat!

Want to know a secret? Well, you can actually burn extra calories every day without even breaking a sweat. It’s true, however, you won’t have the same calorie burn as getting in a good workout or eating a super clean diet, but when it comes to weight loss every little bit counts even the small things.

There are lots of little changes you can make to your daily routine to help drop pounds quicker and get a slim body. Really! Here are 10 of those ways:

1. Wear a pedometer. Having to work toward a certain number of steps by the end of the day is a great way to be more active. I’ve had clients who come near to the end of the day and haven’t reached their goal so they end up doing laps around the house. True story!  A good goal is 10,000 steps per day, so gradually start working up to that and notice how quickly you slim down.

2. Eat breakfast. Getting up and eating a good meal gets your metabolism going so that your body starts burning fat, rather than storing it because you are starving and haven’t eaten in so long. 3. Stop eating out. And start cooking your own food. You can more easily control what goes in your food so it can be much healthier than foods at the restaurant. Choose lean meats, whole grains, and lots of veggies but be sure to limit the sauces and butter.

4. Get it on. Having sex with your partner could burn an extra 150 calories in just 30 minutes. Not a bad way to get a little exercise…ok so you may sweat just a little.

5. Never skip meals. Eating often, usually every 3-4 hours, keeps your metabolism revved and body in fat burning mode. Make sure to eat often enough to avoid getting hungry, which will usually cause you to grab something fattening or to overeat anyway.

6. Find time to relax. Stress causes the body to release more cortisol, which causes you to store more fat in your stomach. So find some relax time for yourself whether it’s reading a good book or taking a bath.

7. Go out of the way. There are many ways to be more active in your daily life. It could simply mean parking further away from your destination or using the stairs instead of the elevator. Yes, you are going out of your way, but these are great opportunities to burn a few extra calories and get more steps in your day if you’re using that pedometer.

8. Watch less TV. Or at least get up and move during the commercials. Research has shown that adults who cut their TV time burn more calories on average each day, especially if you’re using that time to do something active.

9. Play with the kids. Instead of sitting on a park bench watching your kids play why not get up and join them. It’s a great way to bond with your child as well as shed some pounds. Hey and they don’t even have to be your own kids, nieces, nephews, or best friends kids work just fine too.

10. Drink plenty of water. Deyhdration can lead to cravings and a slowed metabolism, as well as feelings of hunger. Make sure you are sipping on water throughout the entire day by carrying a water bottle and make sure to get about 8-10 cups daily.
