Get HIIT: High Intensity Interval Training Treadmill Workout
HIIT or high intensity interval training is a great way to burn more calories in less time. Rather than spending hours in the gym, you can use this technique to cut back on the time you spend working out.
But be warned YOU WILL SWEAT! This is not for wimps or woosies that are worried about sweating. So if this sounds like you then you might as well just go visit someone else’s boring blog that won’t get you results anytime soon…
Anyhow, in this workout I show you how to do high intensity interval training on a treadmill; however, it can be done on any kind of exercise equipment! The key is to work EXTRA hard for a minute and then recover at a slower pace for a minute.
The workout:
- 5 minute warm-up at a moderate pace
- 20 minute HITT intervals: alternate a 1 minute VERY HARD interval with a 1 minute LIGHT to MODERATE interval (speed will depend on your current fitness level and could be a walk and jog or a jog and a sprint so adjust accordingly)*
- 5 minute cool-down at a slow pace
* Note: I used a very hard interval of 7.0 mph and a moderate interval of 5.6 mph
