Top Tips for a Great Thanksgiving Knoxville!
Ok, so it’s only a day away…
So first, before I get lost in a rant, have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING KNOXVILLE!
Now remember, it’s ok to splurge a little bit, but if you’re trying to stay on track for the holidays there’s a few things you may want to keep in mind so you don’t gain 5 pounds overnight!
1. Watch Portion Sizes. I know it’s a tradition to stuff yourself completely full on Thanksgiving. Ok, so eat up, but rather, load up extras of the healthier options and take smaller portions of the not so healthy options.
2. What are those healthier options? Stick with the white turkey breast, fresh veggies (without all the added butter and salt), whole grain dinner rolls, and sweet potatoes minus the marshmallows.
3. What to limit? The gravy topping or anything such as potatoes or casseroles loaded with butter, cheese, cream, or whole milk. All these will be loaded with extra calories. Also, watch the sugar loaded cranberry sauce. It’s ok to have your oh so yummy desert but again stick with a small portion! Stick with one slice of that pumpkin pie instead of three. Remember portion control.
Lastly, remember this day is not about EATING, but about being THANKFUL. so keep that in mind and have an excellent Thanksgiving Knoxville!
