I was always intrigued and love how races are no longer about just running, but really making them fun and interesting. So I’ve always wanted to try a color run and finally had the opportunity to do just that. And this Color Me Rad 5K was definitely a lot of fun!
Any activity is always fun with others, so I put a team together (Team Foxy Body) that was a combination of personal training clients and friends. We participated in the 5K together as a group. Some of us were runners and some of use weren’t but that’s ok!
This is an excellent race for beginners and even walkers. There’s no pressure. It’s all about coming out, having fun, and running or walking at your own pace.
One reason this 5k is so fun is that you end up looking like a human tie dye! How many other races does that happen? Not very many. Check out our before and after pic:
I also loved how they split us up into multiple waves so we weren’t all crammed in for the first part of the race. I’ve been to other larger races and spent the first half of the race bumping into others. Not exactly what I call a fun time, so I was pleasantly surprised at how well they managed to divide up the crowd.
Now, I will warn you some of the color powder can sting your eyes a bit so I do recommend wearing sunglasses for protection. But otherwise, the color washed right off in the shower 😉
So overall I’d say it was a hit and definitely a blast. I can’t wait to attend again next year and I hope you can join Team Foxy Body then! Be sure to learn more about the Color Me Rad 5K by clicking here.
